#technologysucks?

– Where I write my opinion in technology and it’s impact in society –

Technology is both essential and dangerous for today’s society. Ten years ago, the technology we use today could only be dreamed of. It’s not a surprise that time is a straight line and we always have to look forward, but sometimes it all seems too much. Technology may be taking away essence of personality, and it is believed that in twenty years from now, any trace of human behavior can be overpowered by a smartphone. It’s time to ask ourselves: How far have we gone?

It is a fact that we can’t live without technology. We live in an era of smartphones and technologic devices, where being oblivious to the fascinating world that is the Internet is nearly impossible. It has brought the world together in a way that we’ve never experienced, and the opportunities to succeed have never being higher. Studying is way easier than it was ten years ago, and there are endless possibilities of communicating with people that are in the other side of the world. Indeed, it is very attractive and as human beings we have to progress and keep moving forward. But it has come to the point where a new discovery is just categorised as innovation, and innovation is not recognised.

Society has never been more connected and separated to each other. Yes, technology has its benefits; and yes, it is necessary. However, we are going to the extreme where we are more worried about being an Internet sensation than building up our own personality. The Internet constantly hypnotises us, making us miss opportunities to create memories. The more time we are online, the less empathetic and human we are. The fact that a computer screen can only entertain us is unfathomable and sad, really. We need to set limits, if we don’t want to become the generation of dumb people that will eventually expand to a world of dumb people.

Technology has its benefits, but one can’t argue that it can destroy human nature if we go too far. Don’t let the Internet suck up the real meaning of life.
